First of all, I LOVE MY CHURCH! I’m super excited and proud because we have gotten a GREAT response to the Blood Drive. So far we have 38 people signed up between the two campuses and we just started signups. That’s crazy! That’s 10% of our congregation already. We are hoping to fill all 60 spots within the week and have a waiting list in case people can’t give blood due to not getting cleared and we can squeeze in a few more. You can sign up at www.coffeechurch.com under the Be Present link. Read More

Get Dirty and Give Ridiculously
We are on the verge of heading full steam ahead into our next sermon series called Be Present. It’s not enough to be half-heartedly engaged in this world! We’ve got to Get Dirty and Give Ridiculously. One of the ways we will be providing you an opportunity to do both of those things is a Blood Drive on Oct. 28 at both campuses.

Oct. 7 Coffee Church Highlights
I’m slow to blog this week because my mom is in town visiting. I get my creative side from her, so we come up with some crazy projects to do when she comes to visit! A lot of playing and no working!
It was a great weekend! We are very much enjoying the Red, White, and Confused sermon series. It is a refreshing reminder that our politics matter, but what matters most is our personal responsibility to the gospel. If we get out of line, we will fail, but if we hold true to Biblical principles, it will work itself out.
We have a Blood Drive coming up on Oct. 28. I’ll be writing specifically about it, but we have a two-fold agenda: Read More
You Shouldn’t Agree With Everybody at Your Church
I recently got an email from someone in our church that said, “North Creek has changed my life, I love coming, but I’m leaving because I disagree with someone that also attends and I don’t want to see them.” My first thought, “How is this person EVER going to find a church where they agree with everyone?”
Honestly, I understand the temptation to run away from people that you disagree with. I think we’ve all ducked into the next aisle at the grocery store to avoid someone at sometime. We have all attended the family reunion and DREADED the encounter with THAT cousin, aunt, brother, etc. It’s awful, it’s miserable…it’s life.
If you need to agree with everyone in your church, one of three things are currently true about your life: Read More
Rules for Dating a Pastor Continued
For some reason, the most clicks I get on my blog are the posts I write about dating a pastor. Who would have thought that so many people would be concerned about this particular topic? For those of you who are indeed concerned about this, here’s some of my thoughts.
Rules for Dating a Pastor
1. Get ready for the scrutiny. Dear, sweet, innocent girl (or guy), Ministry will kill you. If you don’t believe me, read the Bible. Most people who devoted their lives to ministry ended up being murdered. Now, you may not get physically killed in good ‘ole America, but you will get raked over the coals every now and again. People won’t like you. People won’t care about what you are doing if they think you should be doing something else. People will tell you blatantly that they don’t approve of the very thing you feel like God told you to do. And you won’t make it unless you are secure in who you are in Christ. Get a backbone now because you’ll need it.
2. You have to decide right now to Read More
