It was a very long week for many families in our church and the bottom line always remains that Jesus is our peace, our strength, and our hope.  When the whole world is in turmoil, Jesus remains our Rock.

On that note, we are praying for the multiple nations in our world who faced such tragedies over the last week.  The world needs Christ more than ever.

On another note, our Let’s Talk series was phenomenal!  It’s such an important topic to talk about communication in our marriage, our relationships, and our families.  It was nice to have Chris back in the pulpit again as well!

We got to dedicate Marc and Amy’s beautiful daughter, Kensley, on Sunday.  We love that family, we trust that God has plans for their lives, and we look forward to God writing their story!

We’ve sure been enjoying Prairie High School.  It’s been an incredible blessing as we sell our buildings towards the future.  We are so grateful for the custodial staff and the student techs who are incredible!

We would love for you to jump in to volunteering, if you aren’t already serving.  We have the BEST volunteer team on the planet and a great way to meet people is to serve alongside of them.  We are looking for more people to join our security team.  Basically, it is a team of people that walk the campus making sure that our environments are secure and our families are safe.  We also have openings in our kids ministry as well.  If you’d like to sign up, go to www.coffeechurch.com and fill out the volunteer application.  It takes a few minutes!  We do background checks as well on all of our children’s workers.

Join us on December 2 for our next Simply Worship.  It’s a night to worship, pray, take communion, and be with Jesus.  Our friends at the Link Church are being amazing and allowing us to use their facility, so come check it out at 7:00 pm.

North Creek, I am praying for you.  The Bible says we are aliens on this planet and some days that feels more real than others.  We simply don’t fit in this broken world and when we face pain it can be such a foreign, confusing place to be.  Heaven is our real home and the love of Jesus is our safe place.  We must stay in the mindset that whatever we face has to be surrendered to Him.  He makes all things for the glory of God and that is truly our redemption.

I am so grateful for His love.

We were blessed with missionaries Doug and Tasha Myers last Sunday!  Wasn’t that a great sermon about obedience?  What is God asking you to do for him?

Doug and Tasha are currently ministering in Ethiopia where they will be starting a church next year.  If you’d like to be a part of a church plant in Ethiopia you can do that in two ways: 1. Move your family to Ethiopia and live a wild adventure for Jesus.  2. Give your money to the Myers to fulfill God’s dream for their lives.

Speaking of giving your money, jump in to our 12for12 giving campaign to give $12 a month for 12 months to our missionaries.  We literally want EVERYBODY at North Creek giving money to our missionaries to make a difference in the world.  We want to keep missions at the forefront of your mind as you make purchases throughout the week.  What could you do with your $12?

We are feeling like we are back to (our new) normal as a church after moving to Prairie High School four weeks ago.  We have fewer and fewer little kinks along the way and people are getting to know more people each week.  Thank you to everybody who has been so amazing with this transition.  It has been so smooth and we feel like God is changing our church in powerful ways.

Our Growth Groups are kicking off this week and we are looking forward to growing together and enjoying the company of some amazing new friends!

We have two new areas that we are building up in our church that you may want to be a part of: 1. Security team and 2. Prayer Team.  If you’d like to help with either of these teams, email Rachael@coffeechurch.com and she will get you processed quickly!

Are you reading the Bible?  Praying? Worshipping? God has something to say to you and He wants to use your life.  Put yourself in the posture to be used by God.  We are praying that the Holy Spirit changes everything about your heart, life, and the product of your choices.  We are a people of power and freedom, so let’s walk in that authority!

OK, we’re on our way to such an amazing place!  Thank you for your prayers, support, and love for Jesus.  Let’s change the world!

After a very long and trying week, it was good to be in church on Sunday!  Jesus is so good…the hope of the world and the hope for our hearts.

We are adjusting very well to mobile church and have our setup down to a crazy science already.  Our environments are working great and we are enjoying some new trends happening at church.  The church is hopping by 8:45 am and people are showing up early to just drink coffee and chat in our foyer.  Our kid’s ministry has been calm and secure with plenty of room for experiencing Jesus.  We are loving the new found community happening on Sundays by our new systems.  Join us early and get to know some new friends!

We got to meet new baby Lilly on Sunday.  Congrats to Justin and Becki!  We are so excited for you as you begin a new season of your life as parents.  We are praying for your wisdom and a few good nights sleep along the way!

Isn’t worship fun in Prairie’s auditorium?  I love having a larger worship team and worshipping alongside more of you.  Here’s a secret to making your worship explode in your life on Sundays: spend time with Jesus Monday through Saturday.  Read your Bible, play some worship music, pray…I can tell who has been with Jesus throughout the week because they aren’t approaching Jesus the same way.  People who walk with Jesus regularly are just different after being in His presence.

Mark spoke on Spiritual Gifts on Sunday.  Take some time to read 1 Corinthians 12 and pray about what God has gifted you with and how He wants you to use those gifts to benefit His mission.  I am excited to watch people step out in His giftings and see the miracles that God has for His Church!

We got the sweetest gift from Carl and Susan for Pastor’s Appreciation month.  We also got some cards from kids, which is always sweet!  Thank you for taking the time to communicate your love.  It is appreciated!

We have several families who are facing grief this week.  We are praying for you and standing with you!  It is these moments that make me yearn for eternity.  I take comfort in the fact that we will all be together with Jesus at the end of this deal called life.

The Hazel Dell building has officially closed and is now Greater Faith Baptist Church.  We are praying for them and look forward to visiting in the future to see how they are doing!  As a church we are now debt free, but our budget only shifted slightly due to the rent at Prairie.  Thank you for those of you who regularly give to support North Creek, especially during this transition as we change so many aspects of our church.

claudioA year ago Mark went on a missions trip to Brazil and Argentina that changed his life.  God spoke many things to him and much of the direction shift we are currently experiencing is a result of those moments.  One of the greatest revivals in the world has been poured out in South America and we are praying that the outpouring of God somehow reaches us in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Last weekend Claudio Friedzon, the pastor who was a part of the beginning of this revival, had a massive outdoor service.  I attached this picture of the event so you can see what we see.  Imagine a Nation that calls upon Jesus to this magnitude!

Would you pray with us for this kind of impact in our community?  There is no other hope than Jesus for our world.  He’s it. We have to become a movement of people who stops thinking about a church that is convenient, a church that is safe, and a church that is small.

Nothing about serving Jesus is convenient, safe, or small.

Let’s change the world!

WE ARE AT PRAIRIE!!!!!!  Whoooo-hooooo!  Jesus is SO good.  Such a great morning as we joined the Battle Ground campus, Hazel Dell campus, and our Deaf Church together for the first time!  I just sense that God is going to pour out His Spirit in a new and powerful way in our church and I come with great anticipation during the next season for North Creek!

Everything was SUPER smooth from start to finish all morning.  Our Leadership and Volunteer team was absolutely outstanding at planning, setting up, problem solving and making a great morning for everybody.  Thank you to all of our volunteers who are bending over backwards all month to re-learn our systems, give it their all, and do it with joyful attitudes.  Everybody was simply awesome on Sunday morning, which made the little challenges completely easy to conquer. I am humbled to be a part of such an amazing group that is focused on the mission of Jesus.

Worship in the main auditorium was off the charts.  I just wept in the presence of God as we corporately lifted up his name!  I’ve been waiting with great expectation to be able to worship with our church as a whole and I soaked in that moment for as long as I could.

Kid’s classes were SLICK!  I was so impressed as to how well run, secure, and fun each environment was.  We learned ALOT when we were at Prairie for Easter service, so we strategized solutions for those issues and NAILED it!  It was such a joy to have our kids learning about Jesus and making some great friends in the process.

Mark spoke on the Holy Spirit and the book of Acts.  Would you take some time this week to read Acts and ask God to help you understand the role of the Holy Spirit in your life?  He is a complex, but inspiring piece of the trinity!

Thank you to Alvina who brought our set up team some muffins.  It was a great treat!  If you’d ever like to drop off some treats early for our workers, just let me know at stacy@coffeechurch.com.

We are looking for some new volunteers in these particular areas:  Security team, Hosts/Ushers, Tiny Town, and our Prayer team.  If you are willing to serve on one of these teams, we would love to have you!  Fill out the volunteer form at www.coffeechurch.com.

We are also needing some childcare workers for the youth ministry.  Our small group leaders bring their amazing kids during youth service and they need to be taken care of while they invest in our teenagers.  If you can do that ministry, email Rachael@coffeechurch.com.  Thank you so much for seeing needs and meeting them!

We are gearing up for our own small group season.  We will have a shorter session this time to allow our churches an easy opportunity to meet some new people who may have attended the other campus or who are new.  They will only be six weeks long, which is a simpler commitment for most of us to make!  More info coming this weekend!

Our Hazel Dell building is set to close next week.  We are so excited for the new church moving in!  That building served us well when we needed it and we feel like the church moving in will thrive there.  God orchestrated this all so perfectly and it has been incredible to watch and be a part of!  He is so faithful.  We anticipate the same story for our Battle Ground facility as well.

Whew!  It’s been a busy month and we very much look forward to getting into a new normal.  That being said, I am grateful for the hand of God who moves all of the mountains in front of us.  Our job is simply to walk forth in faith and boldness.

Love you, church!

Here are some pictures of Sunday.  We all missed most of the pictures in the foyer, so we’ll have to try again next week!

The countdown to the merge is ON!  We have just two more weeks in our buildings until we come together as ONE CHURCH at Prairie High School on September 27.  My heart is full of expectation and anticipation as the Holy Spirit whispers to my soul about all that He can and will do with His Church.

If you would like to help with packing, we will be at the Hazel Dell Campus on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  We’ll also be there on Friday for a while, so if that works better, shoot me an email and we’ll coordinate times.  stacy@coffeechurch.com.  We will also be working all next week to get ready for moving day on Sept. 20.

A pastor friend of our recently asked to be caught up on what we were doing and stared at us very wide-eyed as we told him we were selling all of our property and merging our campuses.  Sometimes I forget how enormous this all is, because God has been SO good and as we listen to Him, He makes our path straight.

I’ve got two challenges for you in the next 20 days… 1) Read your Bible.  I suggest one chapter in the book of Acts from now until the end of the book.  2) Turn on some worship music and pray for 15 minutes.  Allow God to speak to you!

One thing I’ve thoroughly enjoyed about prayer lately is that I stopped coming with needs and making it a list of requests.  I just worship Him and as I do, He is ministering to my heart.  Then, as He brings your faces to my mind, I pray for you in the Spirit.  It is amazing how He unfolds His perfect timing before me.

As I’ve been praying, there are two areas of our church that I feel like God wants to break in us.  #1 – Worship.  I think He has a whole new level of worship for us to experience together.  I think He is on the edge of setting us free from our inhibitions and fear.  What would your worship look like at the throne of Jesus in Heaven?  #2 – Tithing.  As I pray, my spirit is burdened because so many people are held in bondage to their money.  He scripted a plan and when you walk in that, you will find freedom that you never imagined.  Church!  I am praying that you walk in bold obedience and see what God does in you!

Our sermon series for launch Sunday is called Everything Changes.  We know that overnight the very face of North Creek will change.  From the average attenders point of view, it will be in a new location, triple in size, and function with completely different systems.  However, that’s not all we want to change.  We want lives to change.  We want the captives to be set free, the depressed to be unleashed, and power where there was once weakness.  We want the disobedient to repent and the disillusioned to have eternal clarity.  We want the presence of Jesus to be our purpose and be a people that rises up in His authority.

Begin to declare victory where there was once defeat because a Living God wants to unleash His power on your life!  Let’s do this.
